Bill O’Brien talks Penn State on ‘Real Sports’

Nobody had a harder job last year than Bill O’Brien, the man who ushered in a new era at Penn State. Following the Jerry Sandusky mess, the NCAA dropped the hammer, issuing the school a $60 million fine and loss of scholarships. When it was all said and done, Penn State’s best players were poached by other teams.

Nobody had any expectations for the football program. A 2-3 win season seemed entirely possible. But Bill O’Brien had other plans. The Nittany Lions finished the season 8-4 with a 6-2 conference record—good enough for second in their division.

Real Sports is airing an interview with O’Brien tonight (10 pm) to get his perspective on the up and down 2012 season.
