Bear Grylls Lit His First Pitch On Fire

The ceremonial first pitch is a tired tradition. Most of the time, some corporate fat cat in a starched shirt waddles out there and throws a 54-footer to tepid applause. Sometimes, though, it’s worth watching. Like last night, when survivalist Bear Grylls lit the baseball on fire before throwing it in Los Angeles.

The foraging enthusiast’s toss was somehow able to make it all the way to home plate, where it was received by an understandably apprehensive Matt Treanor.

Go ahead with your fireballer puns now.
