Flawlessly, too. Vandy freshman Michael Pollack hails from Roslyn, New York, so he obviously knows his fair share about Strong Island's native son, Billy Joel. Last Wednesday, Billy Joel paid a visit to Vanderbilt University’s Langford Auditorium for a Q/A session and performance. Pollack raised enough courage to ask if he could perform "New York State of Mind" with his musical idol. Here's what he told the Tennessean: “Once I started playing and I saw him leaning on the piano, I was just taken aback. I kept trying to kick myself and realize what moment I was in, because I’ve been a huge Billy Joel fan since I started playing music. He’s one of my biggest inspirations, he’s the reason I started writing and playing.”
Judging by the video, every single women in the audience swooned (as happens when Billy Joel is played). This guy isn't going to have a hard time getting laid in Nashville for a while.
