I'm torn on this. On the one hand, I really like Childish Gambino and think that "Royalty" was an excellent mixtape. (And the decision to put Tina Fey on the final track? Genius.)
But on the other hand, Donald Glover is pulling a Drake here. He's reading the "freestyle" lines off an iPhone, which means this isn't really a freestyle. And while you can give Gambino more of a benefit of the doubt than Drake, considering Glover moonlights as an actor on "Community" and Drake's acting days as Wheelchair Jimmy are behind him, this is poor form for a rap that's supposed to be off the top of the head.
Which means this: Kid Cudi, who did this rap three years ago and even changed his lines to reflect when the lights went off in the studio, still has the best Westwood performance of all time. No one else comes close.
