Just last week, my brother and I were having a conversation about what this year's big summer pop song (you know, the one that people will end up putting all over their Facebook albums) will be. As the person who writes for a blog and should know that type of shit, I couldn't really zero in on one. They usually come out around this time of year--note that the last two years' big winners, Call Me Maybe, and Give Me Everything started making waves in mid-late March, so it was only a matter of time.
I don't quite think this will come close to the cultural resonance/please shut the fuck up level of Call Me Maybe, and it's not as upbeat as Give Me Everything to qualify as a true party jam, but this will be huge. It'll get the remix treatment galore, it'll be bumping in pregames, and seniors graduating college will have a strangely obsessive connection to the whole thing. Also, your more stonery roommate will probably play this into the ground. But whatever. It's actually pretty good.
