Robin Thicke has been famous for around six years now—ever since "Lost Without U" destroyed prom in 2007—and it still hasn't gotten any less weird that he's the son of Growing Pains star Alan Thicke, who was essentially the ideal sitcom dad for a whole generation. Robin isn't the edgiest artist out there, but his involvement in a boobs and nudity-heavy video like "Blurred Lines" does become stranger when you remember his father. (And it's far from the weirdest thing to come out of Growing Pains, actually: Kirk Cameron is now a super-religious messiah figure for the evangelical right, Tracey Gold claims the show's fat jokes nearly killed her, and occasionally, if you flip by the repeats, you'll see a 17-year-old Leonardo DiCaprio, who looks exactly the same as now.)
Anyway, while Thicke's jam of the summer has a video worth dozens and dozens of replays—goddamn, that Emily Ratajkowski—watching it does always remind me of Robin's equally famous dad. I can easily imagine Dr. Jason Seaver standing behind the camera, nodding to the music and handing Pharrell a lamb.
Thank you, Hood Internet, for making that Photoshopped dream a reality.
