Man, heavy news and a gloomy way to end the week. Nothing is more of a buzzkill than hearing about the passing of a legend. Sadly, TMZ is reporting that Beastie Boys MC Adam Yauch -- perhaps best known to the world as MCA -- has passed away due to cancer. He was 47 years old.

In 2009 he announced he was being treated for a cancerous parotid gland and a lymph node. It's not known if his death is related to the battle with cancer, but speculation is out there. We grew up blasting Beastie's anthems just like many of you did. Just like Seau, the news hurts. Just last month the Beastie Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Go blast the entire "Paul's Boutique" album and "Sabotage" and "Intergalactic" and "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)" and MCA's last work, 'Hot Sauce Committee," in memory of a hip hop legend. And f*ck the f*cking sh*t out of fu*king cancer. RIP MCA.
