Nets Owner Mikhail Prokhorov Plans to Rap with Jay-Z at Barclays Center

In September, Brooklyn Nets part-owner Jay-Z will christen the Barclays Center with eight concerts over the course of nine days. To anyone making the trek to one of the shows (and it seems like everyone in the New York area is), you might be in for an unexpected cameo performance at your show—a verse or two from Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov.

Prokhorov has jokingly rapped before on a Russian talk show, but this performance would be a little more high-stakes. Dude's going up against Hova, after all.

The news comes from Crain's New York Business:

According to Mr. Prokhorov, a reprise [of his talk-show rap] is in the works, but this time in downtown Brooklyn, where Jay-Z will open the $1 billion Barclays Center with a series of sold-out concerts this fall. "Yes, I will rap at his concert," Mr. Prokhorov informed Crain's via email. "I am in rehearsals now 10 hours a day and plan to demand joint billing."

Important to note here that Prokhorov is kidding about the 10 hour rehearsals and the joint-billing. However, there is a definite possibility that the owner will make an appearance during at least one of the shows. Eat your heart out, Cubes. There's a new coolest owner in town.
