First we have Mac covering Bright Eyes' “First Day of My Life,” something that initially seems surprising only to then make a lot of sense. It's different, it's catchy, and despite being a cover, certainly highlights his “Of the Soul”-esque spirit of unexpectedly deep contemplation. On the other side of the spectrum, his “PlaneCarBoat” collab with Schoolboy Q has a more visceral/aggressive feel, which for whatever reason reminds me of something that would sneakily dominate a killing scene in a Tarantino movie. Take a listen to both, then brag to your friends that you're down with the latest underground sh*t on SoundCloud.
