Listen to 21 Minutes of Daft Punk’s Soundtrack from ‘Tron Legacy’

When I first saw the theatrical trailer for "Tron: Legecy" run before "Inception" this past July, my date nudged me and whispered, "This movie looks like a two-hour long Daft Punk music video." I acted surprised: "I know!" and completely agreed, trying not to be too much of a smartass while coolly playing it off like I didn't know the French electronic super duo was scoring the flick while on their extended hiatus. Earlier today, a 21-minute preview/highlight reel of Daft Punk's much-hyped "Tron: Legecy" score was released. There's already quite a few quality re-mixes of the shorter cut circulating online, some of which have been posted in our regular music features. Admittedly, I'm no fierce, tooth-and-nail music critic, but so far, the 20-minute excerpt sounds like your prototypical blockbuster movie score: Nothing to get too excited over, even if you're a Daft Punk fan (and really, who isn't?). If you're expecting catchy, discotheque samples of perennial DP anthem's like "One More Time," "Harder, Better, Faster," or "Around the World," you might want to stay at home, eat a big ziplock bag of mushrooms, and watch "Interstella 5555." Throw on some headphones, give it a listen below the jump, and weigh in with your thoughts in the comments.

What do you think? Are you excited to spark this joint or do you think it's a dirty, resin-filled bowl of "Meh"? Sound off in the comments.
