This is a four-word sentence I'm not sure I was ready to say: Limp Bizkit is back. Newly signed to Birdman's Cash Money Records, Limp just dropped a new song called "Ready to Go" and of course it begins with Fred Durst screaming, "Go f*ck yourself!!!!" It's the only way a guy who did it all for the nookie can re-acquaint himself with methheads that make up the very last vestiages of his fanbase. Does Limp Bizkit even have a fan base? Or are those concert pics video footage that sat in a timecapsule from 1999?
Though his Kangol hat is no where to be seen, Weezy makes an appearence for a verse. Also, there's a shot of Durst taking a shit in a bathroom stall with a snapback on. It's the ultimate metaphor for this Limp Bizkit come-back attempt.
"Ready To Go" is a track off Limp Bizkit's forthcoming album, Stampede Of The Disco Elephants, a cultural event I'm not quite sure the world is ready for.
I think this moment marks the high water mark of the '90s nostalgia craze. It's all downhill from here. Don't get any big ideas, Mark McGrath and Scott Stapp.
In case you want to replay just how bad that Lil Wanye verse was, here's it written out. Weezy sure has seen better days:
Give him something to break... preferably his career.
