The world is a better place today because there's a brand-new Jimi Hendrix song in it.
On March 5, the world we be graced with a new 12-track Jimi Hendrix album, titled "People, Hell & Angels." The album was recorded between 1968 and 1970, intended for "First Rays of the New Rising Sun," the album Hendrix was working on when he died in September, 1970. "Earth Blues," the first song off the album, was released today over at NME. In typical bluesy, Hendrix fashion, it's mad crunchy:
A few things to note: There are plenty of previous versions of this song out there, including a live cut on a "Fillmore East" recording and a studio version on the 1997 posthumous release of "First Rays of the New Rising Sun." This record of "Earth Blues," however, is remastered with much more guitar and bass. It's also stripped of all the cheesy stereo filter effects and the very 60s-esque tambourine. Enjoy.
