Fresh out the frying pan of a roundtable discussion on Bill Maher's Real Time, today Jay Z (no hyphen) stepped into the fire of what traditionally is the most hit-or-miss breed of celebrity interview: the drive-time radio talk. (You never really know what you're getting with radio. For every generally interesting Peter Rosenberg, you've got five hyperactive dudes with soundboards, talking over anything illuminating the artist might say.)
This one, with L.A.'s Power 106, went pretty well. Jay was open about how exciting it's been, as a sports fan, to play stadiums like the Rose Bowl during his currentr tour with Justin Timberlake, and he revealed that he and JT are currently filming the video for "Holy Grail." Hopefully, the beat drop will be more intense in music video form.
Recording partner and fellow ILLUMINATI member Kanye West was, naturally, brought up during the 20 minutes. Jay revealed that Watch the Throne 2 is maybe-sorta-possibly in the works: "We don't have any dates lined out for it, but we definitely spoke about dropping solo albums and then going back to do Watch the Throne 2, so we'll see what happens."
As for the aforementioned "no hypen?" He dropped it because it's "not useful anymore." Okay, then.
