Say what you want about electronic dance music, but the genre increasingly seems to matter. Two days after we found out the MTV VMAs are to include a EDM video category, Forbes has released a list of the top-earning DJs over the past year. Below is the top 10:
The list shows that deadmau5's best friend raked in just half a mill less than the mighty mouse man. Interesting, and certainly sets up a nice debate as to the where the industry, is, will, and should be moving towards. As fellow editor Brandon astutely observed, "Pauly D being considered a serious player in the EDM/DJ scene is the equivalent to a 5'6 middle school basketball player being in the NBA."
