At the EDMBiz conference in Las Vegas yesterday, owner of Insomniac Events (Electric Daisy Carnival and other large-scale festivals) Pasqualle Rotella came together with the CEO of Dick Clark Productions (The Golden Globes & American Music Awards) to announce the plan to create a 'Dance Music Awards' show in 2014. While no specifics were offered up at this point, this now brings dance music to a higher level of legitimacy in the public eye which can now join other genres such as country music to have their own niche award show.
