Chicago Record Store Makes A ‘Do Not Never Ever Buy’ List

The fact that this Chicago record store has still managed to be a record store--especially considering the amount of music that's on their now-public banned music list--is one of the more impressive feats I've come across in recent memory.

Highlights:

  • Note the late insertion of "Phantom Planet" on the bottom right. The only logical conclusion here is that someone must've been catching up on the OC, and got really mad when that dude died at the end of one of the seasons.
  • Does the ban on "Lame/Sucky Soundtracks" mean that there was once a section in the store titled "Lame/Sucky Soundtracks?
  • Given the fact that "Most 90s bands", "Journey", and "2nd Tier Rap" makes up approximately 80% of all music consumed, there is  a decent chance that Laurie's Planet of Sound doesn't actually sell music and is instead massive drug front. Meaning that this list was made simply to gain viral recognition as a record store, not a drug front.
