Once again, Jon Bellion has released an album that surpasses all of our already high expectations for him. "Beautiful Mind" as he has been dubbed, has consistently shown mastery in all aspects of music making, from writing, to producing, to rapping and singing.
The Separation is a deeply personal album that reflects on Jon's continued efforts to make a name for himself, rather than continuing to write for others. The New York artist paints a compelling, albeit sometimes dark portrait of his life and inner thoughts that leave plenty of food for thought. This is by no means Pitchfork, but I'd like to think we still know good music when we see it, and this is that exactly. Solid 8/10.
