Boston Literally Gets Turnt Up to Death After Over 30+ People Hospitalized at an Avicii Concert

Another day, another PR black-eye for the pop EDM scene. Some seriously awful shit went down at Avicii’s show at the  TD Garden arena on Wednesday night. The show was Avicii’s tour opener for a massive North America tour, which is mostly inside (in the summer! because nothing says “sweet show! like an indoor concert in the summer).

Local media put the number of patients hospitalized from attending the show anywhere between 30 and 80. Via the Boston Globe:

Michael Bosse, deputy superintendent for Boston EMS, said at the scene that over 50 people were treated or evaluated at the scene, and 36 other patients were transported to hospitals from the Garden. There were no fatalities, and all of the patients’ symptoms were minor, an EMS worker said.

The concert took on heightened urgency when medical emergency services declared a Phase 2 MCI (mass casualty incident), indicating about 30 people needed to be taken to hospitals. There were numerous ambulances and a Boston EMS emergency trailer, along with Boston police, at the scene.

Mike Santostefano, 19, of Millis, said he saw three young women being carried out on stretchers.

“You couldn’t breathe if you were on the floor,” he said. “It was the best and worst time ever.”

He said he saw “a lot of people who couldn’t handle themselves. People who don’t do drugs come here and do drugs.”

Guess they were busy getting…

Wow, Avicii shows sound like FUN! A bunch of lightweight teenagers running around like it’s prom. Thank God jambands and music with actual instruments is not cool to “the kids these days.” More room for me to have fun without these idiots.

Here’s what it looked on the inside, according to a punch of pics I randomly found on Twitter. All seems normal?

But then on the outside…

Thank God no one was killed. Seriously, kids, BE CAREFUL OUT THERE (and… not to be your mom… BUT DRINK WATER).http://whdh.images.worldnow.com/interface/js/WNVideo.js?rnd=6661;hostDomain=www.whdh.com;playerWidth=620;playerHeight=355;isShowIcon=true;clipId=10304946;flvUri=;partnerclipid=;adTag=Station%25201;advertisingZone=;enableAds=true;landingPage=;islandingPageoverride=false;playerType=STANDARD_EMBEDDEDscript_EMBEDDEDscript;controlsType=overlay7News Boston WHDH-TV

I can’t be the only person who read this and thought “I am terrified of ever having children.”
