There are a lot of dumb, clueless haters out there who love to talk about how Asher Roth is a one-hit wonder or isn't like what he used to be. Those people, in my experience, are idiots. One of my favorite mixtapes of 2011 was Pabst and Jazz, which was artful, mellow out thinking-mans music, not something made for the silliness of frat rap. If you're sitting around waiting for Asher Roth to drop a follow-up to "I Hate College," you're going to be waiting for a long, long time. No one at the age of 27 -- Asher's age -- gives five fucks about college anymore. That shit is in the rearview mirror, big time.
Anyway, as Andy showed you last week, Asher is preparing to drop a new mixtape, The Greenhouse Effect Vol. 2. Today. Today Roth dropped a breezy summer anthem that features Pharrell Williams dominating the vocals. Personally, I love it. This Dewey Beach day-drinking music right here.
I'm not joking when I say I think Asher Roth just dropped my new favorite summer jam of 2013. Well, besides that other one with Pharrell Williams on it...
We didn't post it yet, but here's another jam Asher released a few days ago:
