It's been what, four, five months since we've posted a solid playlist? Today we finally have a good excuse. In case you weren't aware of it, 30 years ago today Jamaican reggae godfather Robert Nesta Marley passed away at the untimely age of 36 from cancer. The man's musical legacy truly transcends all genres, from Sublime to Public Enemy’s Chuck D to the Fugees to Cedella, Ziggy and Stephen and beyond. Someday a long-awaited biopic about Marley might actually be completed. Until then, we found a playlist on Mixpod with a few of our favorite Marley tracks, so we'll excuse you while you light a spliff to remember this iron, lion music legend.
