Fascinating map shows just how much pot each state is smoking

The Washington Post’s Wonkblog put together this informative map showing just which states are the home to the most pot smokers. In other words, which states are filled with the most stoners.

The map broken down by state displays the percentage of people in each state over the age of 12 who have smoked pot in the past month. Where did they get this information? From the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, of course! NSDUH for short. At least that’s what I call it.

They also have a chart showing the percentages broken down by age in each state: with ages 12 and up, 12 to 17, 18 to 25, and 25 and up, being their benchmarks.

So does any of this surprise you? Is the state you live in filled with more stoners or less stoners than you assumed? If you live in Oregon or Montana, probably not.
