Wrigley to sell ‘Alert Energy Caffeine Gum’

Wrigley is looking to change the way you get your boost with their new “Alert Energy Caffeine Gum.” I don’t know about you, but I’ll be counting down the days until it hits the market.

Wrigley

We’ve all heard about caffeinated gum in the past, and a few of us have even tried it. There has never been an option with a full widespread release and marketing push behind it though. That’s what happens when Wrigley plays ball. You can expect to see Alert in just about every place that sells gum.

The gum is $3 for an 8-pack, each piece containing 40mg of caffeine. That’s more bang for the buck than 5-Hour Energy. It’s also a lot more chewing to equal the 157-215mg reportedly in one bottle of boost juice. The advantage is that you can more easily carry it with you and space out your dosage. The downside is that it isn’t supposed to taste very good. That’s partially by design, to dissuade kids, and partially because that’s just the way the cookie crumbles.

If you can’t wait until this gum is released next month, you can always get the military version. “Stay Alert” is also made by Wrigley, is cheaper, and has 100mg of caffeine per piece. Long live Amazon!
