Taco Bell’s waffle taco and Spicy Chicken Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco get all the attention, but it’s the new secret menu item that’s truly captured the heart of America.
The Enchirito has always been the most underrated item at Taco Bell. The majority of people never knew it existed, but the beef/beans/onions burrito topped with red sauce and cheddar cheese then put in that creepy steamer box was the best thing T-Bell had to offer. Everyone loves sporks, but how often do you actually use one? The Enchirito was the perfect opportunity to put that engineering masterpiece to use every visit.
Unfortunately because the Enchirito was known by so few, it has been discontinued more times than Community. The latest cancellation was due to the release of the Smothered Burrito, which is pretty damn similar. Then again, it’s a Tex-Mex place where nothing is more than two ingredients away from every other item. Even Kevin Bacon thinks they need to branch out.
Much like the internet though, the minority tends to be the loudest. All eight people who still ate Enchiritos made enough noise that Taco Bell has yet again brought it back yet again. You won’t find it on the boards, but it’s joined the ranks fast food secret menu items.
