The most ridiculous byproduct of the cupcake craze from the past few years is cupcake ATMs, and now they’re heading to Manhattan. I’m sorry ladies, but you’re eating from a vending machine. Respect yourselves.
You can call it Targé instead of Target all you want, but you’re still shopping at a discount store. You’re just one small step up from a Big Lots. The same goes for these new Sprinkles cupcake ATMs. While the food is certainly more fresh, women are going wild for cupcakes from a vending machine. And since when was eating dessert after lunch considered normal? I’m all for doing whatever the hell you want, just don’t pretend like what you’re doing is any different then ending a trip to Subway with a slice of cake. Putting it in a cup doesn’t suddenly turn sugar, flour, and butter into a full serving of vegetables.
The first Sprinkles ATM location on the Upper-East Side isn’t up and running yet, but you’ll once it is because there will be a line of women wrapped around the block. Nothing like spending a few hours in an “ATM” line.
