McDonald’s to sell breakfast menu ‘After Midnight’

4th meal lovers rejoice! McDonald’s is adding breakfast items to a new “After Midnight” menu for some stores open 24-hours. Late night food options just got a whole lot better.

The “After Midnight” menu was tested in a few cities last year, and I’d like to personally thank the people in those places for going out and ordering Egg McMuffins at 2am. You really did the rest of us a favor.

Customers will not only be able to get Big Macs and Chicken McNuggets, but also Egg McMuffins and hot cakes. Folks also will be able to mix and match from the two menus, say, hash browns with a Quarter Pounder or french fries with a Sausage McMuffin. All McCafe beverages and dessert items will also be on the late menu.

Other items said to be on the new menu include sausage burritos, oatmeal (why?), and my childhood favorite, hotcakes, which supposedly sell very quickly. This is the first step down the inevitable path to both menus being served all day. There’s no reason I shouldn’t be able to fatten myself up with a McGriddle whenever the pancake pangs hit me.
