Hipsters are happy to frequent Guy Fieri’s restaurant in Times Square to be ironic, but tell them he’s opening an outpost in their Williamsburg safe-haven, and they lose it.
I wouldn’t expect people to be thrilled about having a tourist trap in their neighborhood, but these reactions were hilariously disproportionate. You’d strangle him? Really? If I had Guy’s money, I’d open a restaurant next to that super-bearded man’s loft purely out of spite. The clip of his threat would then be played on loop on every one of the restaurant’s 100 inch plasmas followed by Guy arrogantly saying, “My unrestrained neck is off the hook!”
