The official guide to drinking in NYC’s Upper East Side

New York City’s famed Upper East Side is currently going through a bit of a drinking revolution. What was once home to rich families and nannies pushing strollers has seen a surge in the number of quality drinking establishments. Our friends at Thrillist have put together a comprehensive drinking guide to the neighborhood now known for affordable apartments and bars with incredible craft beer selections.

Bondurants:

The newest and best addition to the Upper East Side. If broken apart this bar would have both the best craft beer selection in NYC as well as the best bourbon selection, but luckily for us it’s one incredible establishment, and you don’t have to decide between bourbon or beer. They recently hosted several tap takeovers from some of the most reputable breweries in the USA (Cigar City, Bell’s), and their IPA brined french fries are so tasty you’d expect to find them on a Michelin rated menu, as well as an in-house smoker where they smoke all their own deliciously prepared meats.

Jones Wood Foundry:

“Forget the UES, Jones Wood is one of the best British pubs in the whole city with familiar pub trappings without feeling cliched, and a great craft-heavy beer list (mmm… Jones Woods Session IPA…), and bar-friendly eats like a lamb & rosemary pie.”
