Sam Adams is trying to set the world record for most beers hoisted at once this Saturday, September 22, 8:00 PM ET. You can join an official celebration or just toast from the comfort of your couch.

Participants can raise a record-setting stein at one of our four simultaneous Samuel Adams Oktoberfest Celebrations in Boston, Cincinnati, Denver and Chicago. Hoisters who can’t be there in person can still make Samuel Adams stein hoisting history from the comfort of their own homes. All hoisters need to do is pour themselves a Samuel Adams OctoberFest and hoist at home as they watch the event live from Cincinnati at 8:00 PM ET on the Samuel Adams Facebook page.

I’m all for setting world records, especially when they involve nothing more than drinking. As of now the only one I hold is for longest frat keg stand, but I don’t think that will get me into any coffee table books. This won’t either, but that doesn’t me I don’t want to be a part of it.

If you want to join in their schnitzel games, but aren’t near on official party, here’s their Facebook page. If nothing else it’s a great excuse to drink a beer. Prost!
