5 cocktails to drink during ‘Mad Men’ premiere

The season premiere of Mad Men is finally upon us. We all know that drinking while watching is a requirement, so we’ve put together a few classic cocktail recipes and a couple new variations for you to make beforehand.
Flint Manhattan

Colin Joliat

3 ounces Knob Creek Rye
1 ounce Sweet Red Vermouth
2 dash Angostura Bitters


Pour into mixing glass filled with ice and stir. Strain into chilled lowball glass. Drink. Repeat

Classic Negroni

Pernod

1 oz Beefeater Gin
1 oz Campari
1 oz Sweet Vermouth


Pour all ingredients into a rocks glass over ice, stir and garnish with an orange wedge.

Don’s Old Fashioned

Jim Beam

1 ½ parts Jim Beam® Bourbon
2 dashes bitters
Water
Cherry
Orange slice
Lemon wedge
Sugar


In an old-fashioned glass, place 1/2 teaspoon sugar and 2 dashes bitters dissolved in water. Fill with ice. Pour 1-1/2 parts Jim Beam® Bourbon; add cherry, orange slice and lemon wedge.

French 75

Pernod

1 ½ oz Plymouth Gin
½ oz Fresh Lemon Juice
¾ oz Simple Syrup


Shake with ice and strain into a chilled champagne flute. Top with champagne and garnish with lemon twist.

Basil Hayden’s® Draper’s Manhattan

Basil Haydens

2 parts Basil Hayden’s® Bourbon
3/4 parts Dolin® Blanc Vermouth de Chambery
1 bar spoon Luxardo® Maraschino Cherries
1 dash Orange Bitters


1. Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and stir until combined.
2. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
3. Garnish with an orange twist.

Smooth & Sour

Jim Beam

2 parts Jim Beam Black® Bourbon
1 part amaretto liqueur
1 part triple sec
2 parts sour mix
2 parts lemon-lime soda


Serve shaken in a tall glass with cracked ice. Garnish with a squeeze of lemon.
