Social media makes it easier than ever to connect on a personal level with adult film stars.

Every man should date — or at least hit on — a porn star at least once in life. Unfortunately, most guys are clueless on the correct way to talk to women in the adult film world.

“In the early days of social media,” explains adult film star and Penthouse Forum cover girl Kelly Shibari, “I’d constantly get Twitter replies from guys like ‘Hey, I just jerked off to your video. Why don’t you come over and suck me off?’ Funny how that stuff doesn’t work.”

Kelly not only knows a thing or two about sex and social media but she knows the best way for a person to market themselves because she does it for a living. When she’s not posing, performing or Tweeting she runs her own marketing agency. It was her selling technique that got her on the cover of Penthouse Forum. After a few pitches to the magazine’s editor, Penthouse decided to go for it. Kelly’s the first plus-sized model to be featured on the magazine’s cover.

After talking to Kelly on the phone for a few minutes about the magazine, the topic turned to men and social media. So I asked her — is it possible for an average to guy to score a date with an adult film star through Twitter or Facebook. She said it’s absolutely possible and dispensed this wisdom for men to follow.

Be a gentleman

It seems like common knowledge, but most men fail right off the bat. Don’t be abusive or say rude things just to get attention.
“Just be polite,” Kelly said matter-of-factly, “and if I don’t respond it’s nothing personal.”

Don’t incessantly tweet at women

Adult stars, or anyone really, would love nothing more than to chat on social media all day. Few people have the time. Don’t reply to her constantly or tweet something back every time she tweets or reply at her twenty times in a minute. ‘“We want to like all of our fans. Having a twenty minute conversation isn’t possible.”

Save the dick pics

“We see dicks all day. It’s a part of our job.” Your dick is no bigger than the average adult star (unless your blessed), and even then, now what is she supposed to do? “What am I supposed to do with a picture of your dick but not your face?”

Keep it public

Don’t DM unless specifically asked. “I get it, you don’t want your mom or coworker to see you tweeting at an adult film star, but then would you really want to date me in the first place?”

Fan mail is preferred

If you’re really interested in talking to an adult film star, try fan mail instead. It’s a little more intimate, shows effort, and it feels much nicer to get something in the mail. Unless it’s a framed dick pic.
