If you've been on vacation to an island in the Caribbean, you've probably had the opportunity to go zip-lining in a lush tropical rainforest. But have you ever gone on a zip-line rollercoaster?
On April 6th the first zip-line roller coaster in the United States is set to shoot brave thrill seekers down it's track. The coaster is called "The Rattlesnake," and it is the only one of it's kind in the United States. Located at Florida EcoSafaris you can launch yourself into the next generation of zip-lining. The Rattlesnake will transform the typical tree-top transportation into thrills, thanks to sharp turns and frightening drops.
Before you can ride the coaster you have to walk to the top of the 65-foot tower and then let gravity do the rest. There is a 1,000-foot of rail awaiting you and the ride lasts approximately one minute. The only other zip-line roller coaster similar to The Rattlesnake is in Tulum, Mexico.
Emily Kaufman, a California-based travel expert known as the Travel Mom, was lucky enough to preview the ride last month and gave it a glowing endorsement, "It married a couple of things that I really love: The-zip line experience — the fantasy of feeling like you're really flying — and a roller coaster. It wasn't too intense, but intense enough."
So would glide on this two-of-a-kind zip-line roller coaster?
