For those on the brink of quarter-life crises, this probably won't help. But it'll make you think, long and hard.
This three week old video featuring a lecture excerpt by the late and very great British professor Alan Watts has gone viralviral. Watts says he would often ask his students what would they do after school if money was no object.
He explains that living your life based solely on money is a horrible idea, as you will just work a job you’re not interested in to make money to keep living the life your unhappy with. It’s a sad and endless cycle nearly everyone is stuck in.
The powerful video lecture was put together by Tradgedy And Hope, and stands with nearly 190,000 hits.
Whether or not you fundamentally agree with Watt's premise, there's no denying he makes some brilliant, brilliant points. Yes, "the system, man," but more just sack up and stop going through with something you're simply going through with because it's what everyone else is doing. Just do you, dawg. Dew U. Mountain Dew University--something someone out there would probably devote themselves to "if money was no object"
Whatever your reaction to this is, this certainly pokes a few holes into the previously irrefutable "Drake's Hierarchy of Shit You Should Care About," as shown below.
