It was probably going to be a sad story: After a 73-year-old dementia-riddled man named Robert McDonough went missing from his home, a local Maine ABC affiliate traveled to the area to report on his disappearance. McDonough had been gone for 14 hours.
Then, right after reporter Norm Karkos delivered a live broadcast, none other than McDonough pulled a move right out of The Ring and walked by the camera. The look on Karkos' face is priceless—a perfect example of dawning realization, a "Holy shit, that might actually be him."
And now the piece not only had some ridiculous footage, it had a happy ending. "Well sometimes timing is everything," Karkos told his anchors. "And good news, and a happy ending. The gentleman behind us, you’re looking at, that is Robert McDonough."
