Last week, I swung by the official launch event of Moustache Season 2011 to officially kick off Movember. For anyone new to Movember, it's the month-long fundraising initiative that gets "MoBros" around the world growing out their best mustache in order to build awareness and funds for men's health and men's related cancers. It's also a time for any guy who's never had the balls to grow a 'stache to give it a try while being able to call anyone who makes fun of him a d-bag who hates charity.
I took a few minutes to interview Movember's founder, Adam Garone, to hear about the origins of Movember and how far it has come. Finally, after a few Bulleit rocks, I opted for my first-ever classic straight razor shave by The Art of Shaving. I was trying to sculpt my very own Tom Selleck, but the shave actually made me look nothing like the legend himself. In fact, I look like I shouldn't be within 500 yards of small children, but it's for a good cause I guess.
The Art of Shaving was there to kick off its partnership with Movember and add to the cause by giving complementary shaves all night. As part of the partnership, they're donating $10,000 to Movember, plus will match team donations made via The Art of Shaving's Movember team at MoBro.co/theartofshaving, up to an additional $25,000.
