Of all the portmanteaus for the word "bro"—bromance; brocabularly; Broseidon, lord of the brocean—"brony" might just be the strangest. It's used to describe the substantial teenage and adult male fanbase of My Little Pony, a children's show about, you guessed it, magical ponies. Tens of thousands of bronies congregate online, primarily on 4chan and related message boards, and, if you ever want to gaze upon the dark (yet glittery) side of the Internet, you'll sometimes see the "often shockingly perverse and graphic fan fiction and fan art" bronies have created for their favorite characters. The phenomenon is larger than you'd think. It's not inconceivable to say that more art has been dedicated to My Little Pony than it was to Jesus Christ during the Renaissance.
Yeah, I just don't know sometimes.
Anyway, occasionally bronies will find a suitable conference center at least 100 yards from the nearest school, and they'll meet up in real life. Shit gets... as weird as you'd imagine. Above are some of the highlights from this year's conference.
Hey, who's that in the corner at the 1:26-mark?
