That bitch named Sandy hit on us on Monday night and it's still f*cking up our day here in New York City. The whole city is a mess with clogged roads. My neighborhood, the East Village, is pretty much a cold, grey blackout ghost town. But things are looking up: Tomorrow subways are set to restore limited operations and things will slowly get back in motion. In the meantime, Silas Maniatis created this wonderful timelapse video of Sandy bringing her wrath to Williamsburg, Brooklyn and the East Side of Manhattan. Note the rising water shortly after nightfall. Lights go out across the East Village and the Lower East Side shortly after the one-minute mark. It's mesmerizing to watch.
