President Obama just announced that the United States will withdraw all troops from Iraq by this December 2011. There are 39,000 troops remaining in the country, and all but 150 — who will remain to assist in arms sales — will be home for the holidays, the President said. He was careful to not declare victory but did say that the war was over. Iraqi and American leadership were unable to reach a deal on a key issue regarding legal immunity for U.S. troops, CNN is reporting. Since 2003, when the Iraq war began, 4,479 American service men and women lost their lives. More than 32,000 have been wounded.
