Is Weed Killing Your Boner?

We’re know that alcohol can give you whiskey dick and ruin what was shaping up to be an outstanding evening. However is there such a thing as weed dick? Can marijuana take the lead out of your pencil?

Many men will claim that they receive benefits from marijuana during an amorous encounter. In a 1982 study published in the Journal of Psychoactive Drugs, 75 percent of male pot smokers said the drug enhanced their sex lives. They believed that the cannabis helped them last longer in the sack instead of their usual 38-second fuck sesh. Justin Lehmiller, Ph.D., a sex educator and researcher at Ball State University, says that a man’s altered perception because the effects of the marijuana seemingly slowing down time is what causes him to think he’s going the distance, when he is actually just taking an unsatsifyingly quick jog.

Now science attempts to find out if weed dick is real or not. Biomedical researchers are trying hard to see how marijuana affects erectile dysfunction. Studies done on animal dicks have shown that marijuana has “inhibitory effects” on the receptors in the penis’s erectile tissue, and the same may hold true for human cocks as well. The studies find that marijuana is more of a sexual inhibitor than it is a sexual enhancer.

Previous studies have also shown that people who consume cannabis daily are three times as likely to suffer erectile dysfunction compared to people who don’t partake.

A study published in the January 2011 issue of the Sexual Health Journal states that marijuana contains certain molecules that numb nerve receptors in the schmeckel, which causes men to not get a boner and/or not climax.

Researcher and physician Rany Shamloul says that because smoking weed has such a relaxing effect, being high can actually cause men to lose interest in sex and watch SpongeBob Squarepants marathons.

However, there are some important caveats regarding these critical weed dick studies. Factors such as the amount of marijuana consumed will greatly alter the outcome of the findings. If you consume a small amount of marijuana then the negative and limpy side effects shouldn’t be very adverse.

Lehmiller speculates that sexual performance may even be enhanced with small amounts of marijuana because the drug lowers inhibitions and “stimulates desire.”

Another aspect that needs to be taken into consideration is what kind of cannabis strain are being consumed. Different strains produce different effects and different people react differently to them. It’s the same reason why marijuana causes some users to get tired, while makes another person paranoid.

However another study states that marijuana is great for erections. Researchers Ronald Weller and James Halikas released their 2012 study titled, “Effects of Regular Marijuana Use on Sexual Performance,” that found quite the opposite. The study revealed that more than two-thirds of their participants reported increased sexual pleasure and satisfaction from using marijuana. The study also discovered that about half of the participants said they felt an increased desire for a familiar partner.

So it would seem that small doses of marijuana enhances sexual satisfaction for lit lotharios, but too much and you could just be fooling yourself and leaving your partner unfulfilled.
