10 Images from Washington’s First Day with Legalized Marijuana

At midnight on Dec. 6, marijuana was officially legalized in the state of Washington. This was a big deal, and the occasion merited a celebration, which turned out to be filled with about as much stereotypical stoner behavior as you can possibly imagine. From Reuters: "Washington state made history on Thursday as the first in the nation to legalize marijuana possession for adult recreational use, an occasion celebrated by dozens of users near Seattle's famed Space Needle tower amid blaring reggae music and a haze of pot smoke.... Low-key cries of 'Yeah!' and 'Smoke some weed' and 'Anybody got a bong?' rose." All that was missing was that one guy trying in vain to move the party to Taco Bell. (As someone who reports on the news, I'm contractually obligated to make a "munchies joke" every time marijuana legalization is in the news. Everyone is doing it. Hi Brian Williams.)
