According to some reports, Mike Singletary's position as 49ers head coach is in jeopardy following today's loss to St. Louis. Here's a video of 49ers QB Troy Smith having a shouting match with his boss on the sidelines shortly after throwing an interception to St. Louis safety Oshiomogho Atogwe. Ted Ginn Jr., one of Smith's former teammates at Ohio State, rushes over to stop the quarrel by shoving a towel in the quarterback's face. Judging by the video, he's unsuccessful in calming everyone down.

Update:  Looks like Mike Singletary isn't coming back to coach the 49ers for their final game of the season...

Sacramento sports reporter Jim Crandell reminds us on Twitter that "Singletary started season w/sideline argument with Vernon Davis & finished arguing with Troy Smith... great consistency..." Smith's lucky he was even played this week, so I'm a little confused as to why he'd even bother to bicker with his head coach. Tactless, but who knows what's going on in that locker room?
