Meet K.J. Farfan He's a five-year-old hoop sensation from Miami, Florida who, according to Yahoo's Prep Rally blog, spends "hours working on his jump shot and ball handling." He's in kindergarten and, according to his folks, he was dominating the hardwood in peewee leagues stacked with seven and eight-year-olds at the age of four. He already has two -- count 'em -- two highlight reels, including one with an Isaiah Thomas meet-and-greet. Could this story of a freakish hoops child prodigy get any weirder? Most definitely.
Yahoo's Pep Rally reports Farfan already has a personal trainer, a massage therapist, a nutritionist, personal security guards at his games and a personal barber who trims his hair. Remember, this is at an age when his peers are watching Dora the Explorer, unable to multiple or divide, and learning how to tie their shoes. He already has a Facebook page (of course he's a Duke basketball fan) and a Twitter account with a link to his "Middle School Elite" profile. In the meantime, the kid been the subject of features on Telemundo and NBA TV. Our friends at the Hoop Doctors were giving him looks back in June. Farfan has another 13 years left until he's finished with high school and eligible to play college ball, yet he's received letters from Kansas State coach Frank Martin and Miami coach Frank Haith. Will this phenom make it that long before inevitably burning out? Watch his highlight reel below and decide for yourself.
How long until this beast commits somewhere?
