What If All U.S. Interstates Were Just Subway Lines?

If the United States was connected by a nationwide subway system instead of interstate highways, we'd be less dependent on foreign oil and our air would be a little more breathable. There would, however, be some drawbacks, as demonstrated by this graphic imagining that world. No stops between Denver and Topeka? Hope you've got your bladder under control. And God forbid it starts running express for no reason. Could add days to your trip.
