Uber Will Hire 50,000 Military Veterans Over The Next Year And A Half

I feel bad for people who live in cities that don’t have Uber. A couple of taps on your phone and boom, you have a car driving you around. Hell, he’ll even go through the drive-thru at In and Out Burger so your drunk ass can munchie on an animal-style burger at 3 AM. Would a cab driver ever do that? Hell no.

Another reason to love Uber: They’re launching a program called Uber Military to on-board 50,000 members of the military community to the Uber platform. The goal is to help veterans transition from military life to civilian life by giving them jobs that don’t suck (depending on where you live, being an Uber driver working 40+ hours a week can earn you between $40,000 – $60,000 a year). Former Secretary of Defense Dr. Robert Gates will serve as volunteer Chairman of the UberMILITARY Advisory Board.
