Ted Shuttleworth, a former writer for the show "NYPD Blue" faces up to a year in jail after allegedly punching his poodle in the face so hard that it died from extensive brain trauma. 

News like this is just remarkably sad. I can't even bring myself to make a slightly insensitive joke. Rest In Peace, Mr. Poodle.
