The drinking age in England is 18. But similar to us homies across the pond, words like "underage" really just want to make us drink a lot more. Hence, this brilliant sequence of events that occured as a result of an undercover operation.
If you aren't familiar with that charming face, it is none other than Boby Hill of FOX's King of the Hill. "Bobby" used this ID to acquire alcohol at 22 different stores, and was only rejected by nine of them. This means that with this fake of fakes, dude was a stellar 13/22. A hall of fame batting average to say the least.
More than half of the 22 shops tested by the county council trading standards operation either served the teenager alcohol without asking for identification, or accepted fake ID, even though it identified that he was underage.
A total of seven stores failed to ask for identification and six checked his false ID card but still sold him the alcohol.
Because this is England, the land where underage drinking is treated sans the wrath of 10,000 moons, it doesn't appear any serious charges were brought to the stores who sold "Bobby" the booze. Chicka, chicka yea.
