Today is the 71st birthday of hall of fame tight-end and legendary football coach, Mike Ditka. Also known, to a great many, as the only other man outside of Chuck Norris that natural disasters and debilitating diseases stand no chance against. Most of us are too young to remember Ditka as a player. Heck, many are still too young to even remember him as a coach, but we all can certainly appreciate him for his contribution to the press conference parodies commercials that Coors Light runs. He was, after all, their original pitchman.
I personally hate commercials during football; I am an irrational man who wants action and bloodshed, what do you expect? But I especially hate when FOX or CBS abuse their power by having one right after a touchdown is scored and then again three seconds later after the goddamn kickoff. Is that really necessary? Well, my point is, amidst the incredibly annoying Toyota-thon and Buffalo Wild Wing ads, I always enjoy a good Coors Light commercial. Since it is Ditka's day of birth, and because I once heard that the commercials were originally his idea (although that might just be someone adding to the folklore that is Ditka), I figure why not pay him a tribute by showing the 10 best Coors Light Football coach parodies to date.
