Evil Texting Driver Hits a Bicyclist, Says She Doesn’t Care

Well, it’s time to call it a day, Internet. We’ve finally found the worst person in the world. Kimberley Davis, a 21-year-old Australian girl, was texting with seven different people while driving her car through a small down in western Victoria. Police say she used her phone up to 44 times during the trip, which seems, uh, a little excessive.  Put it down, girl.

Then she struck a bicyclist from behind, not seeing the lights he had on his back. She called 911, but the cyclist says she didn’t help him while on the side of the road, waiting for the ambulance.  The cyclist suffered a spinal fracture requiring surgery and a spinal cage.

Here’s where it gets worse. In her interview with the police after the incident, she was completely shameless about how her texting led to the accident. According to Australia’s The Standard:

“I just don’t care because I’ve already been through a lot of bullshit and my car is like pretty expensive and now I have to fix it.”

“I’m kind of pissed off that the cyclist has hit the side of my car. I don’t agree that people texting and driving could hit a cyclist. I wasn’t on my phone when I hit the cyclist.”

Um, look girl: You hit someone with a moving vehicle while not paying attention. That’s your fault. Don’t act like it’s a minor inconvenience that your car is damaged when you sent someone to the hospital.

And that last part is just so completely baffling because, uh, what the hell WAS she doing that caused her to slam into a cyclist?

People are the worst.
