Teens have more ways than ever to entertain themselves. From Snapchatting snippets of the 1989 tour to their friends to putting over 100 hashtags on every Instagram they take while at the 1989 tour, there’s no shortage of things for them to do.

A lot of people consider this to be the downfall of society. These teens, with their smartphones, they’ll be the death of humanity. Or something. They’ll never learn character.

It might not all be bad. Maybe it is having a positive effect?

You see, when I was a teen, I was bored a lot. So I smoked a lot of pot. Teens these days are smoking less, according to a University of Texas study. Perhaps it’s because they have better ways to spend their time?

A study from the University of Texas at Austin found that the percentage of teens who partake has dropped from 6 percent to 4.5 percent over an 11-year period (a 25 percent decrease), while use among older teens declined from 26 percent to 22 percent.

Cellphones: Possibly rotting our children’s brains, but also possibly preventing their brains from being rotted by weed.

I’d call that a push.
