Evanston, Illinois: Home to kinky, in-class f*cksaw demonstrations, a Jimmy John's, and college rapper beef wars? This morning a tipster read our Q and A with Northwestern University sophomore Chet Haze and brought our attention to a diss track that he claims is making the rounds amongst the student body at Northwestern University. The track, titled "Black and Purple," was cut by some rapper we've never heard of named "P-Holla." Our source tells us P-Holla is a senior at Northwestern from Columbus, Ohio and a member of a rap group called "C-Zoo." Again, never heard of it. So you can see some of the things he's calling his fellow Wildcat out on, we've transcribed a few of the lyrics:
I got fresh Tims, black Socks/ this is rap, think you're good but you suck cock / Soon as I heard I knew shit stinks / But then I heard you're the son of Tom Hanks / Tell your dad I said 'what up' though / All in the name, call you Paris Hilton / Leave you by yourself, yelling Mr. Wilson / Oh you mad cause you're girl wants to do me / Your main role was in Bratz: The Movie / Pretty good at acting, as a rapper / You're so a clown, cause all you get is laughter / This is Northwestern, mental fortitude / Think you're a fratstar, but I drink more than you / No more drinks though, we trying to blaze / white and purple, white and purple, smoking Chet Haze / I bring it back, call me Devon Hester / This dude's a gangster his real name is Chester
Geeze. Not sure we get the point of dropping this track. Jealousy? Doesn't really seem very tactful. We have no idea what provoked all the bad blood, but it sounds like things need to cool off on the North Shore. We also have no idea how Haze will retaliate. If rapper feuds and diss tracks are your thing, listen to P-Holla's "Black and Purple" after the jump.
