Louisiana’s Rayne Independent has a circulation of 3,600. It also has one sportswriter who isn’t afraid to tell it like it is, standards be damned. As someone who has dealt with the unique nightmare that is covering prep sports, I can understand why, in a moment of frustration, he may have typed this. How a couple of copy editors missed it, however, is a different matter. There’s also a sentence that just stops after introducing a player a couple graphs above. Pulitzer-worthy work all around.
